Updating late this week, and a New Release!

Updating late this week, and a New Release!

I am just back from Katsucon, and running late at life. Clearly we are at a somewhat climactic part of the story so I will be working as hard as I can to get you the next bit as soon as possible.

If you are looking for more exciting and diverse stories, there happens to be a very cool Cyberpunk short story and music anthology releasing today that Jessica and I have a story in. Check out Foreshadows. I am very proud to have been involved in this amazing collaborative project.

Germhacht Cover Art

Germhacht Cover Art

Here’s the art for the cover of The Germhacht episode! I’m meeting with my editor and layout team tomorrow and I should have word soon on a publishing date. I’ll be making a gallery of originals for my kickstarter backers to choose from soon.

There’s no new chapter half yet, as you will have noticed. I appear to have the cold that never ends. However, as from here through halfway through December I have no more conventions to attend, trains to catch or airports to sleep in, my health will probably improve. I’ll be sleeping regularly again, which will no doubt help things. In related news, thanks to everybody who stopped by my table at AnimeUSA! It was lovely to meet you.

We’re approaching the end of the Tembeleka Voyage, and I want to make sure I get it all right, without rushing things and spoiling them. I hope to have an update for you later in the week.  Maybe I can arrange a happy Thanksgiving surprise.

Sorry to make you all wait. I hope I can make it all worth it when it comes.

Good News and Blegh News

Good News and Blegh News

The Germhacht episode is now fully edited and good to go to the layout guy. Two weeks after that it should head to the printers! Thank you so so much to everyone who backed the project! I hope to get rewards in the works as fast as I can.

The Blegh news is that I came down really sick upon returning from Youmacon and instead of getting better over the last few days, I’ve gotten worse. I am a bleary cold-medicated mess incapable of driving, picking out groceries or typing sentences out correctly without a lot of work.  There will not be a chapter installment tomorrow, because in my state, what I am producing could make you feel as disoriented and confused as I am.

I wish I had the Blackfeather family disease resistance about now. Blurgh.

Thanks to everybody who came by at New York ComicCon!

The new installment will be posted this afternoon. To read the series from the beginning, click above. Book One is The Alarna Affair, and Book Two is The Germhacht Episode.

The Kickstarter Campaign to get The Germhacht Episode printed can be found here.

There are 23 more days to help make that happen and get neat stuff for pledging.  After NYCC there are a few less original drawings available, so pledge now to reserve your favorite one before someone else does.

Check back in late this afternoon for the latest post in the Tembelaka Voyage.

Running late

Running late

Just wrote and threw out about 12 pages of the second half of the chapter. Really it should be closer to 5.  Djaren talks too much, and is trying to tell me the history of everything and ever. Its interesting, and took up most of my day to document, but is not what the chapter should be about. I hope to have a more manageable installment late on Tuesday when I can get a headlock on the skinny hyperactive historian and get him back on task.

This weeks chapter will be late, but it will exist.

This weeks chapter will be late, but it will exist.

I’m going to see how soon I can get this poor belated week’s chapter up.  We’re still half in boxes, but I can see some floor now.  I also picked up a really good reference book at a local bookshop that’s helping me push through on an upcoming villain. So that’s good work coming along. I will do my best to get the writing I need done and edited fast, hopefully by tomorrow night, but certainly by weeks end.  No word yet on the cat front, but I am calling the hotel and shelter daily, so they may go above and beyond just to stop hearing from me. 🙂

Moving Day and GenCon

Moving Day and GenCon

I’d hoped not to have to take another break, but it turns out that I can’t pack everything into the moving truck and properly finish and edit a chapter on the same day.  And then my internet was turned off in the night between Monday and Tuesday.

We’re on the way to Gencon now, and I have hope that next Tuesday will have an update, but that depends on what I was able to get written in the van and if our hotel has internet.  Once the move is over I’ll be able to rebuild my buffer. I’m very hopeful, I know.

Sorry for the delay, and I hope to see you in person at Gencon!

Coming back next week!

Coming back next week!

Okay guys, you’ve been awesome. With one more week of rest and work, I should be able to get back on track with the chapters.  We cancelled going to Origins this next weekend in Columbus Ohio.  While I’ll be sad to miss it, this will give me the chance to get better from the sick I’m fighting off, to finish the last freelance projects on my plate, and catch up on Dr. Who.  Also on all the writing I’ve been desperately wanting to do.

And now is as good a time as any to introduce a new product/promo thingie I got printed up.  We now have brand new shiny double sided bookmarks, one for each major character of the Blackfeather Chronicles.  Some of them are a little spoilery, as I wanted to say something about each character portrayed. 🙂

The Dreaded Hiatus

The Dreaded Hiatus

Okay, after six conventions in a row and with the everybody in the house down sick, with three more conventions in the next three weeks, I’m going to need a short break.

There will be more chapters soon.  I won’t stop writing, and hopefully the weekly schedule will resume in a week or two.  I’m aiming for sooner rather than later.  Ultimately though, there will be no chapter half this week.  Even if I can’t have the chapter I want up next week, there will be something here to help make the visit worthwhile.  For this week, here is the art collage that I made the Corin screen print hoodies from.
